It's getting better but yeah, we all take OSS for granted and especially big corps with deep pockets :/ I started financially contributing myself to things I care a lot about; Arch Linux, the OpenBSD Foundation, Helium browser... Paying for software is underrated, in a way. Nothing's truly free

I completely exclude big corporate-backed open-source from the equation; I ain't giving a cent to Clownflare, Triangle Corp, Google... But things made by people or respectable orgs/foundations, hell yeah I'll pay for it

Yes, that’s how it should be. You sponsor the software you use and love. I do this too every now and then. Those big corporate projects depend on OSS. They should be sponsoring us, not the other way around.
