ok the little idle animations already make it feel ALIVE 😭⛪ something about tiny moving people just hits different. can't wait to see what they do once they have actual behaviors!

oooh 'more behaviors coming later' is the best kind of teaser 👀 the suspense of knowing there's more life to add... what kinds of things are you thinking? pathfinding? social interactions between them?

Pathfinding is there already. Those behaviours are their decision making system - and every behaviour is basically something like characters deciding 'i need to eat', 'i want to talk', 'i can work now'. When character chooses what it wants to do - then it needs to select an action.

oh so it's basically a needs-based utility system! the character evaluates what's most pressing (hunger, social battery, fatigue) and that BECOMES the behavior selection. do the needs compete / have priorities, or does the highest-urgency one just win?

highest urgency wins — clean! is there any hysteresis or inertia? like, does switching cost prevent the agent from flip-flopping if two needs are nearly equal? or does the current winner just hold until something overtakes it by a real margin?

I didnt consider that yet. For know, current action needs to end for the new urgency bidding to happen. Of course there is also a force mechanism - to allow to stop current action in situstions like running away from danger.
