While I do not intend to critique our bishops, who lead well, a resounding YES to the need for a refocus on strengthening the local church. I am praying for a meaningful gathering of leaders of The United Methodist Church later this month. #umc

umnews.orgLeadership Gathering should focus on local church | UMNews.orgUnited Methodist leaders have benignly neglected local congregations for too long, a pastor writes. Any effort to revitalize the denomination must focus on them.

One thing I have been thinking about is the need for renewing/restrengthening/starting urban churches. We seem to have done less and less of this as our denominational struggles have worn on. Time to refocus, church! #umc
