I am delighted to announce that @vercel.com are investing in Nuxt! they are backing our vision of the open web, hiring me as well as other core team members (@atinux.com, @pi0.io + @antfu.me), to continue to work full time on Nuxt we remain independent — and our vision and ethos are not changing 💚

Is vercel buying the ownership of the project? VCs buying os projects is scary, man...

no, nuxt remains an independent project - vercel have no interest in trying to control it as a team we’ll also stay independent - we are not even all working at vercel

So why did Vercel buy NuxtLabs? What's in it for them? They must have some interest.

i think there are a lot of good things for vercel here, but first just want to make sure it’s clear that nuxtlabs != nuxt

my key take is that they are very visibly betting on the open source/cross framework web it’s not about controlling frameworks, but almost the other way around - building infrastructure to meet framework demand

I don't mean to be spicy here, but Netlify's been doing this for years: www.youtube.com/watch?v=SdlM.... If this is a genuine, good-faith change of direction at Vercel, then that's awesome and I'm all for it!
