About once a year I rant about the state of ERP platforms. I'm due for one so here it is. The ERP industry has to be the most deficient niche I've seen in the software industry. Every project seems to be death by a thousand cuts due to legacy/deficient software and horribly archaic process.

Lastly, time is literally money when it's about utilizing their time (if you saw the billables your eyes would bleed). When it comes to your time though, it's abundant and so they can be so irreverent. Someone please disrupt this space. If not...I'll do it myself. :p

In the 90s I worked for a company ($1B/yr) that built their own ERP rather than buying. Cost was 1/10th and results were better because the software adapted to the (strong) business vision rather than forcing the business to adapt to the software. www.youtube.com/watch?v=cUbI...
