If only we had leaders with this kind of nerve in Europe. Instead, we get continual surrender to Trump. Even though Europe is much more capable of defending itself from the US than Canada , which is much much more exposed. The difference is courage. Something Europe needs to find.

Canada is more militarily dependent on the United States than Europe.

Europe is busy decoupling its military from the US. A lot has already been done, and the direction of travel is only in one direction.

I wish that were true, but it isn't. There is no independent European military capacity, and every move toward creating one is blocked by Mark Rutte and national leaders. Sovereign European defence is not being built. They're just spending more – on US weapons, at US command.
