I'm in Lyon, looking at the still-smouldering ruins of the Bellecour Pavilion - a 174-year-old landmark burned down by rioters on Saturday. People are staring at it still in shock. The atmosphere is incredibly tense and unnerving. "Lyon" has been spelled out with candles.

As ever, protesters overtaken by political anarchists, vandals, philistines, looters, criminals and this is the result - no real solution but irrevocable damage to history.
