Well Hollande ended when - 2015, 16? He was center left, but in the view of many people not effective in bringing that to bear, but so the hegemony of the center right isnt really full for more than 10 years. One should say "The center" has ruled for 20 yrs - and created the mess we are now in.

The center, in the sense like the German CDU likes to say "Wir sind die Mitte" ("Ich bin ein Kanzler der Mitte", H. Kohl) - chock full of self righteousness and complacency. Yes they steered us into near systemic failure, and still they dare to say "Vote for us, there is no alternative".

But one has to include the center-left in Europe into this verdict as well. Like the already named Hollande, and in D for exx, the SPD governed with Merkel all the time. It is really the European bourgeoisie as a social class that has failed. In their hands was our future and they fucked it up.
