40 years ago would have been a tad too early, as studies had just begun. The project got ripe in the early-90s, but 🇨🇦 had poor public finances back then.

I am a fan of HSR, but I’m not sure this is money well spent given present train ridership, the cost and the need to expropriate all that land.

agreed - we’ve all travelled enough in Asia and Europe to know that trains are fast, efficient economical, and environmentally friendly. The only problem is we should’ve built them 20 years ago not now but it’s like treeplanting. The best time was 20 years ago second best time is today.

We need more trains in Canada and not just in Ontario.

HS rail for Canada should be located in regions of high urban density 1) London ON to Toronto 2) Ottawa to Montreal.. for viability and focus on efficiency and reliability.. Subways for major cities would be good too
