Here's how to turn off the Gen-AI training on Twitch. Step 1. Go to Account Settings. Step 2. Go to Security & Privacy. Step 3. Scroll all the way down till you see "Training for Generative AI". Step 4. Turn that son of a bitch off forever. Step 5. Profit. Hope this helps anyone! ❤️

There is a reasonable reason for this on the technical side. Most of twitch uses an aws database called DynamoDB, which is distributed, and sometimes has read-only-replicas, as well as uses caching on requests. This means that a write (settings update) can take a bit to get populated to everything.

Its a well known computer science problem known as eventually consistency, and its the reason that you sometimes see a stream title get changed, but it not actually update in the UI. Its unfortunately largely unavoidable when at the scale twitch etc. is. Tho it can be mitigated.

The biggest thing is to make sure that it gets handled gracefully in situations like this. Not send an update to undo a settings change on a reload for example. I think if you had given it a minute, the setting would have shown up as changed just fine.

Trust but verify is perfectly acceptable. I do the same thing. (As much because Im betting I might have made a mistake as any given site I've interacted with.)
