When trans creators are subtle, people dismiss the trans subtext as “headcanon.” When trans creators are loud and proud, people call it “obnoxious” and “cringe.” They just don’t want us to be represented in media at all. Because they don’t want us to exist at all.

Little heads-up for those that don't know; you can now add links to your profile! Really good for listing what you're making!

Bagel stole your phone and decided to take pictures of you while you sleep?

Proton Jon / Claire@protonjon.bsky.social

Welp, Lucah's gone for a week to check up on her Mom, which leaves Bagel and myself all alone. You know what that means!

three things we need to survive the AI slopification: 1. Steam/Netflix/Spotify/YouTube/social media all have to aggressively downrank AI content 2. social movement for human art 3. a global world order government to disallow training on human data without consent, enforced by space laser or similar

Folks in the furry fandom are pretty good at not being beholden to HP and rowling but we have a long way to go with ditching FNAF…

Shit like this is why the "anti reverse engineering" laws being used to prevent people from building custom frontends are bullshit, and result in enshitification. Because sites end up with no competition. At all. And they become trash. & network effect means moving to a different site is impossible.

I was tempted to pirate HP, curiosity and all that. But @jessiegender.bsky.social is right - think of the amount of times HBO commented on GOT leaks and downloads, just as an example. They DO track these things, and even that drives interest. Let this show die. Trans people deserve better.

I can't stop thinking how wrong the tech bros have understood creativity and creators. Or even just having hobbies. #erliart

My new shorthand for our new gilded age: "We shouldn't have let the phone company buy all the taxi companies." ... and warehousing and delivery companies. and courier services. and media companies. and so on

It would be the FUNNIEST thing in the world if all of these datacenters get made, with massive renewables as a requirement for their construction, then the DCs themselves NEVER get used (aka bubble bursts). I feel like that might be the best case "infrastructure" build-out to come from this bubble.

KetAnthropic JoshAI@ketanjoshi.co

I know this'll ruffle feathers but I agree with this Food/Water watch analysis. Diverting renewable energy away from fossil phase-out and climate adaptation and towards melting graphics card to power chatbots is the formal end of moral purpose for clean technology.

About my recent rt: this is something that I saw on the regular at twitch. People (execs etc.) would be very specific in the statistics they picked to prove their point. Let's pretend that the more someone streams, the more lilely the are to do thing foo. If the executives want to show... Cont.

Foo as a good thing, they say "95% of regular streamers do foo" where they define *regular* as some rediculously high hour per week number. In the opposite case: "only 2% of all streamers do foo" could be used to deminish the number, but *all streamers* was anyone who streamed in the last 2 YEARS!

This is why you have to be incredibly careful when reading and listening to statistics. Not all statistics are lies, but many people will lie using them. (That said, don't take this as permission to ignore stats you don't like. just because you don't like it doesent make it untrue in some sense.)

Of course noone would choose to opt in. It's as skeezy to be asked permission to train data learning models on people's work and personal information as it is to have that be the default standard. People are saying no because they don't want it. If you really cared, then don't add it.

Twitch isn't making Gen AI training *opt-in* because no one would voluntarily choose to opt in. Instead, they are offering an opt-out option.

Here's how to turn off the Gen-AI training on Twitch. Step 1. Go to Account Settings. Step 2. Go to Security & Privacy. Step 3. Scroll all the way down till you see "Training for Generative AI". Step 4. Turn that son of a bitch off forever. Step 5. Profit. Hope this helps anyone! ❤️

Take this from someone who LOVED the movies: Stop. Spending. Money. On. Harry. Potter. Purchases are a form of speech. Do not speak alongside this now systemic weapon against trans rights. It IS unfair that your comfort IP is now a threat. But your comfort is not more important than human safety.
