Despite being part of the "I started a YouTube channel before @jasonschreier.bsky.social" club, I still want more people in the games industry should start their own channels. There's a huge gap for experienced folks sharing their knowledge and helping balance the sea of uninformed fan commentary.

Jason Schrier videos have no editing and I've lately seen many people who have successful YouTube videos with zero editing.

Jason's channel is very special though. Might be my favorite one of the bunch.

I love yours and Jasons! I think what you are saying is spot on too. Maybe we should make a list? I feel like there must be industry exp people out there with channels that might not be that popular with the YT algo, so mostly invisible? At least that's been the experience with mine.

Beyond even the games industry, I think there's a massive gulf between fan engagement in media and the professional environment it operates within. It's extremely weird seeing rantsonas being the main critics of media they haven't even had experience making.

Absolutely. I don't think people realize how NEEDED their experienced perspectives are, in all fields. Despite YouTube having a ton of content, it's actually not enough professional voices once you start trying to dig into many subjects.
