One day before SCOTUS may decide a case that could disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of voters, the New York Times handed the vote suppressors a gift. We won't. Democracy Docket is unapologetically pro-democracy, pro-voter and pro-count-every-vote. Support our mission: https://bit.ly/4qskS3m

When they use voting machines to count ballots it’s bad. When you have paper ballots it’s bad. Methinks the methods isn’t the problem, but rather that voting against them is considered to be the crime.

QUIT GIVING THESE FOR-PROFIT COMPANIES ATTENTION AND ENGAGEMENTS. WHY IS IT SHOCKING TO ANYONE THESE PEOPLE ALIGN THEIR BANK ACCOUNTS AND POCKETS WITH REPUBLICANS GREED?!?! We are stupid to keep giving these platforms views

Fox news would say. Bunch of outside agitators trying to stir up some anger or something to that effect. Republicans are a minority here. Of course they're going to lose. Unlike Trump and his gold plated junk, California has, since it's founding, always been the Golden State.

This is how the media gives false claims “legs”: NBC News this week: 1. Lead with, “Pres Trump claims fraud”, making a lie a story 2. Note claims “lack evidence” rather than “are false” 3. Press CA official, “why does count take so long”, thereby validating underlying premise of the false claims.

What is so hard about just saying California receives mail in ballots up to 7 days after the election and ALL signatures are verified in a state of 23 million. The vote counting center in LA is completely transparent. Maybe they should send a reporter there, understand the process, then report it.

no society in history has ever been failed by an institution more completely than the american people have been failed by the sycophantic stenography drones of our collaborationist court media (nyt division) none of this would be happening without their complicity

Wyoming typically sees around 130,000 to 165,000 total votes cast in a gubernatorial primary election. California is at around 4.5 million votes in this primary. It takes a little longer to count a big state compared to a small state.

Trump thinks all voting should occur on one day. California has 23 million registered voters. If you wanted them all to vote on the same day they would need 26,000 polling locations. Typically, about 9 million vote for midterm = 10,000 locations.

In the 1970s and 80s, I read The New York Times, every day, all of it. Stayed up late Saturday night so I could pick up the Sunday Times as soon as section A was available. Then I spent Sunday absorbing it all. Now, I wouldn't even use it to pick up dogshit.

It's only wrong if you want to rig the election by not hand counting paper ballots and rely on tech oligarchs to hack the software.

CA makes it easy to cast a ballot, BUT there is plenty of backend verification. The local post office sat on my husband's ballot until election day (assholes). He went and cast an in person vote. That vote was recorded, the mail in was discarded, no fraud, no problem.
