Why are we watching a judge take treason seriously like, it's not a bad idea? Our system needs a big fat overhaul. It's flacid AF with powerful ppl.

Again USPS and POTUS do not have authority. Texas can have their own rules on this but they cannot push their want onto the nation, the constitution is very clear, and if they don't want to take voting rights serious ,then people will use 2A that Republicans have pushed onto people for 100 years.

These should be state AGs arguing in dozens of states before multiple judges. I'm missing the urgency here. This isn't a question of "could"; the USPS interfering with mail in ballots WILL disrupt the elections.

And I realize Democracy Docket & Mark realize this, but it cannot be publicized enough. It's time to school the American public because many don't know zip about elections or even how government is supposed to work.

How did we get here? ROBERTS advised brother JEB BUSH during Florida ballot fiasco Apptd Chief Justice by W. BUSH THOMAS apptd by H.W BUSH ALITO apptd by W BUSH BRETT n AMY both worked on BUSH v Gore litigation =5 of 6 W. BUSH creates DHS and ICE. The BUSH political family dynasty SCOTUS

Among those in the courtroom today are women from the Delta Sigma Theta sorority. DST are plaintiffs along with the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts. Although the Black sorority, founded amid the suffrage movement, is non-partisan, it supports voting rights. Find more live updates here:

Judge Talwani is interrogating the DOJ and 12 GOP state lawyers defending the USPS final rule over their claims that the voting rights groups' members don't have standing. If they don't, the uptick is USPS could mandate its mail ballot rules against those 12 states. Find more live updates here:

The DOJ told Judge Talwani at the outset of the hearing that the department will immediately appeal to the Supreme Court if she grants a preliminary injunction against USPS’s rule. Find more live updates here:

Why can DOJ ALWAYS appeal to the SCOTUS just because they don't like the ruling from the lower courts??? Appeal if you think the judge made an error in the handling the case or other legitimate issue. IMO this is a major flaw of our system and plays right into Trumps always litigate everything MO.

The DOJ is arguing that they can run out the clock on parties seeking relief from the impacts of USPS’s mail voting restrictions ahead of the midterms. Judge Talwani is pushing back on this claim. Find more live updates here:
