🧵 Early voting has begun in Colorado, and the outcome has important implications for the state’s democracy. An election denier is running to oversee state elections, and a GOP-backed attempt to heighten ID requirements for voting is on the ballot. Here’s what to know 👇

🪪 VOTER ID ON THE BALLOT: Voters will consider a ballot initiative that, if passed, would require them to write the last four digits of either their: 🔺 Social Security number 🔺 Driver’s license number 🔺 or Real ID number on the OUTSIDE of their mailed ballots.

🪪 Election judges must confirm the numbers on mail ballots match information stored in a state voter registration database. Voters whose ballots don’t match could be disenfranchised if they don’t correct it in time.
