People keep talking about how decentralized the resistance is in MN, and yes there is no singular figure, committee, or group coordinating all things. That's very different than there being no structures (plural), groups (plural), or leaders (plural) keeping things going and building things further.

The fantasy version of "decentralized" is a world where everyone is somehow communicating, deciding, & taking action as individuals yet magically coordinated. The reality is a massive venn diagram of overlapping groups (formal & informal) building trust through common cause, effort, & experience.

All of this should be the lens through which we can try to answer questions around why one Big Day Of Action is a massive success, while another might not have the same crescendo.

Biggest lesson is that I guarantee there there is some group in *your* life (coworkers, neighbors, locally based affinity group) that needs a, or another, person willing to step up into a greater leadership role. With patient urgency, militant grace, and guiding with a confidently humble hand.

In my area I've been surprised at how many groups are active and engaging with one another to build protests and community events that anyone can join. It may seem leaderless but really it's a young DSA college student here, a suburban grandma there, a dude who works at a game store
