Seriously, that's fucked up. "Cheating" the Ludum Dare voting is one thing, but writing a script to create dummy users that shit out ratings, AND spinning up a VPN to hide your IP to run it isn't cheating, its malicious. ๐Ÿ’ข

Ew that's awful. Really sucks to hear people are choosing to scum the rating system rather than spend the effort to improve their craft. No rush on getting the ratings out; good luck!

BTW yes the bad ratings are purged and the offending accounts are locked. I just need to review the winning games, make sure there's nothing fishy going on. *sigh* There are likely still a few accounts left from development of the script, but I've made y'all wait long enough.

what kind of "cheating" is one thing? cheating is malicious, why the separation? what "cheating" is allowed? getting mixed signals

The separation is if you half assed it (didn't try to hide, clearly did it by hand), I undo and you may get let off with a warning. But if you take it too far, write malicious scripts and take steps to obscure what you did, if I catch you I can also take it too far: permaban.
