Really, the only decent use for Read Receipts is bullying people who should be responding anyway because it's literally their job to do so. And at that point, you've accepted that they're gonna hate your guts, and they're right to, but you need something from them bad enough to justify the cost.

Actual, normal read receipts are basically the email equivalent of certified mail, you put the request on there as a message in and of itself
