Using Switch 2 Game-Key Cards is pure business for some publishers. From a game preservation view, these things should never exist. People defending it with "you can resell them" is more than worrying to us. People even claiming we would be ok with empty cards is baffling.

This type of product should be banned. It’s simply e-waste.

It's not wasteful since it does still allows you to own the game, which digital doesn't. Obviously we want the game on the card, but it's still better to buy a key card than to buy digital since you actually own it and can sell/trade/borrow it.

You own nothing with these. As soon as the servers shut down, you will never be able to doenload those games again.

You still own it while the servers are online or while the game is installed already. With digital you can't own it because you can't sell it. Ownership means being able to sell it and buy it used. Even if that ownership is temporary.
