What's happening now is a perfect lecture in media literacy. More and more social posts from different outlets appear talking about a rumored physical release for GTA in December. What looks like confirmation through many sources is just many outlets citing the same rumor.

Hopefully the rumour turns out to be true but, if so, Rockstar choosing to not announce such a thing hoping for players to double dip is total bullshit and absolutely anti consumer practice.

It would just be stupid on their part. If it was real they could have very simply avoided the code in a box PR disaster by delaying the disc release by two weeks. This isn't real. They didn't do this because of leaks. They did it to avoid the used game market.
