And THAT is why these Techno-fucks want hardware at home gone and replaced with "cloud computing" They are salivating for it. Without hardware at home they could just control embarrasing information kept years ago like this. After physical media gone hardware at home is next.

Because thanks to this stupid decision, the world is finally realizing your true intentions: to completely pull the wool over our eyes by making the video games we love so much entirely “digital,” with no other choice and total control on your part.

.It was about time the general public found out, and thank you for that—because this widespread awakening was necessary. You’ve just made our job easier here Now it’s over. You won’t escape this.

Sony, no matter how much you hide for days on end, you know you’re in an untenable position. Whatever decision you make, you’ve simply disgusted the vast majority of PlayStation fans. Too bad.

Worst thing the consumers can do is to praise a corporation for back off from doing something horrible they were totally 100% fine doing until they met resistance. Lets not do that, lets not allow these fuckers any room to recover.

I want Physical media, absolutely, but CDs for games only hold 50GB. Unless we go back to the time when games like Final Fantasy had multiple disks, or substitute flash drives, I don't see how we can own a COMPLETE physical game these days. Not to mention including patiches, updates, and bug fixes.🤷‍♂️

Maybe games publishers should just let devs FINISH the games before releasing them instead of relying on patches, updates, and bug fixes. you know, like they used to.

I'm glad to hear that. But then there's the other issue of publishers shipping games with lots of bugs to meet deadlines, requiring lots of fixes in patches. And what about DLC? That's not usually on the disk either. I want all physical media, but I'm not sure if it's even possible at this point.

Do they not realize they would sell more physical copies if they start giving us the thick booklet inside the case. The story of the game. How it came to be! Heck when it comes to the fighting games the combo list versus having to pause the game and go to the menu to see what combos you can make!

Wait a minute, even though digital sales were higher, still doesn’t change the fact the physical sales were up there too. PlayStation stated that they removed discs since digital sales were MUCH higher than physical.

and they are. if we look at Capcom's final sales data for 24-25, they are reporting a 85% digital over physical if we remove PC sales because those are digital only, with PC it's higher, obviously. This data that this post is citing is from a 2022 leak so outdated, but also has astrobot in there

a game from 2024 so potentially made up as well. the reality of the situation is digital has been majorly outpacing physical for a while now but rage bait account dont want to admit it
