This absolutely gorgeous logo animation for me is brought to you by @thebluepixeling.bsky.social! A ton of flair, he's a great graphic designer! He did an excellent job! It's not at all what I envisioned but I love that!!!!

I could spend the rest of my life analysing this feedback sign in the local Home Bargains. Did 'not happy' break from overuse? Was it taped over to ensure 100% positive feedback? Is the green 'b' in 'feedback' some kind of subliminal nudge? Is the duck tape indent because people still keep pressing?

FUCKING THANK YOUUU It's most evident when you look at the difference in the design of western games with continues like Revolution X and House of the Dead. The 1CCer wasn't even in the designer's minds when the former was being made and you can tell.
It's a lesson on how much these systems can shape player perception, not just of an individual game but of entire genres and eras of gaming. In the case of beat 'em ups, the continue system literally flattened them to the point where most people can only distinguish the themes.

Man, for as under-appriciated as the art of arcade games are, slot machines are basically not talked about online at all. Like, to my knowledge, there's not even a slot machine wiki. Nobody knows who draws the art for them and there isn't even an easy way to find a full list of the ones by a company

Whatever it is you create, I want you to take this review, memorize it, and look at it every time you feel bad about your craft. No matter what you make, no matter how niche, no matter how weird, you have the power to make someone's day, week or life a little brighter. Never forget that power.
Not the top Steam review of Dressmaker making me cry this morning!

we are squarely in the phase where big companies are encouraging people to ai generate as much bullshit as possible in order to completely saturate society with it and make it feel normal eventually there will be a few ai-generated things people will consider good. then it'll be more normal
This shit just writes itself at this point. Just the name "Epic AI MegaJam" is a joke that best describes what is going on with these companies.
