This is your regularly scheduled and apparently necessary reminder that SteamOS is Linux. SteamOS is built from Arch Linux. The Steam Deck runs Linux. So will the Steam Machine and Steam Frame.

how hard is it to say "additional support will not be perceived for non steamOS Linux users"

I kinda get where you're coming from but supporting steamOS is supporting one of the hardest distros to put games on. Debian makes it way easier than Arch. So if they can drive it to steamOS, then getting it running debian should be far easier. I just think they're ignorant which is fixable.

I see someone has jumped in already but as someone who routinely uses both arch and Debian: This is the whole point of the steam Linux runtime, which is finally not total shit since 3.0.

tell me you don't know how steam works without telling me you don't know how steam works

Exactly. Devs out here all afraid of linux support yet they build for the steam deck. I don't get it. Perhaps steam has done too a job hiding that it's linux?
