To make a poor analogy - it's if the editor and the writer disagreed on what the thing ought to be about and then the writer said "well it's not possible to write those words" but eventually could be talked down to "it's possible but will take 3 quarters" solely because they don't want to do it

@eileendoodles.bsky.social's exec leader once said "we have too much aligning and too little executing" on a project where half the team ended up working at cross-purposes with the other half because those decisions about what the code should say were never actually made

(so there was *not nearly enough aligning* and the executing took forever as a result)
