Whoo boy... Someone just contacted me as a solo dev wanting me to check out their game... ...except they're actually somehow making EIGHT games... all surprisingly far along, none of which are finished yet... ...I don't see any GenAI disclosures... ...hrrrrrrrrm...-

So, rather than write a pro/anti GenAI response, I instead decide to write this person a response warning them what's at stake if they DON'T disclose their use of generative AI. If I can't dissuade someone from using it I can at the very least try to keep them honest before it backfires on them. :P

I saw a post on here earlier about a ZZT port to the NES ... I knew it would be GenAI but checked it out anyways. It's ... sloppy 😵 Something about it screams "some THING made this that has no concept of what it's actually making" What's the point really, why burn down a small forest to make it

I found it interesting to compare it with my hand-written GB/GBC port, to be fair. One thing that surprised me was that it made similar math optimization choices to myself; one thing that surprised me more is that it *didn't* contain a bytecode compiler for ZZT-OOP as an optimization strategy.
