Has there ever been a more openly hostile contestant on TASKMASTER than this year's Richard Ayoade? I'm not mad about it. Dude makes me laugh non-stop. But he genuinely seems irritated by everything and everyone involved.

Yeah but Mantzoukas clearly loved every minute. Ayoade seems like he’s minutes away from firing his agent for putting him on the show.

Yeah, Mantzoukas was desperate to be on the show. It was a dream for him. Richard genuinely feels like he's made a terrible mistake.

Honestly, it's my least favorite season so far. I find Richard to be a drag on the show. At least with Mantzoukis, he was trying. I don't think performative hostility is that clever. It just drags everyone's vibe down. Matt is not as bad, but similar vibe. The ladies this season are great though!

On LAST ONE LAUGHING, for example, he was certainly deadpan. But hostile? Not remotely.
