unlike X, your experience here is entirely determined by the choices you've made about which people/feeds to follow. if you're experiencing bad vibes, it's a you problem for me, X is a wasteland. all the interesting people left long ago, and the algorithm feeds me ragebait and grifter junk

depends what you find interesting. the vast majority of the musicians/writers/reporters/foodies/scientists etc that made X interesting (to me) — in other words, the creatives — have very largely abandoned ship. if you only care about tech and don't mind being part of the fascism machine, X is fine

> and don't mind being part of the fascism machine mannnn this smug self righteousness is a terrible look I'll put it to you this way: all the wonderful, _brilliant_ people I enjoyed chatting with at your employer's conference last October are all on Twitter still 😉

X is a platform that amplifies the enemies of liberal democracy, run by a drug-addled megalomaniac who is in the process of illegally dismantling the government. people have already died as a result of his actions. by continuing to spend time there, you are lending him support, and poisoning your

own information diet. None of these statements are particularly controversial. If being opposed to that sort of thing makes me smug and self righteous then I suppose that's a label I will just have to wear. I'm aware that lots of people I consider friends and colleagues are still there. Sadly,

I've tended to notice that people in the tech industry tend to consider themselves 'apolitical' or straight up don't pay attention to what's happening outside their bubble. To be honest, I thought you were different — your personal brand is 'outraged centrist liberal feminist dad'.

That seems a bit generous to me.
