I am unbelievably touched that @dropout.tv titled my @dimension20.dropout.tv Adventuring Academy episode “A Duty of Care”

I’m overwhelmed today, but I want to circle back in a while to share the links to everyone & everything I cited. More soon.

speaking to early (pre-internet) actual play, anecdotally I have hazy memories of someone doing it on public access tv when i was little.

Alex Chalk has documented the LA one (Dungeon Majesty) which was contemporaneous/a little later than BURPS, but if there’s others I’m keen to hear about them!

this would have beem in Vancouver, Canada, but it was possible we were getting stuff over the air from Washington state. I'm thinking no earlier than 87 and certainly before 94. It was just a one shot or I only caught one episode. IIRC the play itself was pretty typical wide shot of a table...

where the side the camera was on was unoccupied. But they did put a little effort in & there was a little intro video of them running around the woods in cosplay outfits.
