- shrink your surface and offload as much of that surface as you can to competent vendors (Cloudflare, AWS, etc) - I don't think you need abliterated models for this; GLM 5.3 is happy to do a lot of poking at stuff, just ask @hailey.at - reluctantly: give the frontier labs some money too

What’s your advice to smallish companies with any kind of Internet presence? Buy some tokens on an abliterated GLM and set it loose on your own infra?

deepseek is even better. deepseek refuses zero percent of the time to attack ~anything and is much cheaper to swarm

a lot of people online love to complain about cloud prices, but i certainly trust AWS to keep the lambda/fargate hypervisor or an eks/ecs managed ec2 instance more up to date and locked down than i ever could if those get broken into, we’re all collectively fucked

Honestly the defensive side needs to focus on best practices. - egress firewalls should be deny all by default - run a local package proxy - eliminate long term stored secrets wherever you can - automate security scanning in every CI pipeline - use something like renovate/dependanbot

A huge number of PHP websites are just CMSes for what effectively is static content. The can be replaced with static hosting like Cloudflare Pages or something like that.

Just did some of this myself. It was easy and cheap. bsky.app/profile/elli...

I decided to try this on a whim. Ported 90% of it to Astro/EmDash on CloudFlare on a $20/plan in about 2 hours. Never hit a usage limit even using Opus 5.5 on High. Had the existing site to compare all the functionality to, along with openspec specs and the test suite. 💪🤝
