Post

Hard to post on X when I deleted my account. People keeping an active account are complicit in its continued impacts on society like the misinformation and hatred it spreads. It also helps out the guy who owns it and its heartless shareholders. Delete it. Let it disintegrate at long last.

This one line tells you everything you need to know about this article and it's author "ironically, Bluesky is now much nastier than Twitter"

I had 6 Accounts attack directly by Twitter and cancelled for my stand against Trump and MAGA. Although while being scrickly restricted by X I still feel obligated to Resist to Save Democracy. Still standing STRONG 💪

Also, either that's a really unflattering caricature, or Sean Thomas is the poster child for Thalidomide. Jesus, Sloth, maybe you should spend less time writing articles about social media and more time having adventures with The Goonies.

Oh noes! We're SMUG! Much worse than being openly racist and fascist! God forbid anyone use a social network that's not a carbon copy of Truth Social. God forbid anyone have STANDARDS OF BASIC HUMAN DECENCY, rather than sucking orange dick for the sake of convenience.

I have some doubts. But I left in Nov. and there is no going back. I’m a Taurus and believe me I’m not going back. I don’t miss the constant need to block, the bad ads, the nasty people..

I’m frustrated because I rarely see the people I follow unless I search individually. Secondly, not every elected democrat is using Bluesky and that annoys me. I will still never go back to Threads or Twitter. (I know it’s X, I’m just being defiant)

"lacking anyone else to spar with" Can we once & for all acknowledge that not everyone wants to spar, or debate as they also call it? Discussions, keeping up on the latest, laughing, learning.. what is so wrong with that? And why do so many men think EVERYBODY who says anything says it for debate?

I was on Twitter for 13 years. I downloaded my data & deleted my account after Trump’s Nov 2024 election. I had over 3,000 followers & lots of friends. 😔 I like news and conversation. Not interested in sparring unless it’s in a “smart people rationally sharing ideas” way. I really enjoy BlueSky.

I hear you, though the new user agreement that enables Elon to own your art (plus training AI) and your only avenue to deal with it is via a small court in Texas made staying there and tolerating the racism and hate a bridge too far.

I would rather comment with my experience of only using Bluesky and deleting my twitter account. Spectator is a right biased news org that doesn't need our amplification. Bluesky is the best of them. It is the people that make the site of course, so any negativity is brought by us.

I will never go back to "twitter"! I left the day of inauguration. I only stayed that long because I really hoped he would not be inaugurated because his cheating in the election would have been discovered by then. We all know Musk & trump cheated. Harris did win! Of that I have no doubt whatsoever.

I have yet to see any of these media people whining about finding Bluesky being unwelcoming who doesn't come across as an arrogant jackass who finds it outrageous that they would ever encounter any blowback to their bloviations. And Sean Thomas seems to fit that characterization perfectly.

The Spectator is pissed there aren’t more MAGA idiots on Bluesky. Occasionally, a MAGA troll harasses me with nonsense here on Bluesky and I block them immediately. This happens once or twice a week. I assume other Bluesky users do the same and this is not enough to satisfy The Spectator.

They slip in. First they follow & their profile is relatively innocuous so you follow back. Then they post a crazy response so you have to read through their timeline to see who they really are. I occasionally write a reply then mute them so they can see my reply, but I mostly block them.

I cleared out of "X" months ago, never to return. Since then, I've been FAR more active on Threads, but I do try to at least post on Bluesky from time-to-time. Usually stuff relating to my blog and my other creative endeavors.

" a lot of not-very-leftwing people like me snuck over to have a look at the new place." ROFLMAO... so you, an admitted right winger showed up here and didn't get the welcoming reception you wanted? Poor baby. How about you fuck off back over to Twitter and enjoy your "not so left wing friends".
