LLMs have created a talent and morale crisis within big tech, with engineers seeing their skills atrophy and their workload increase, all as big tech directly incentivizes burning as many tokens as possible. I fear something very big will break. www.wheresyoured.at/the-ai-industry-is-lying-to-you/

The AI industry's marketing campaign is built on lies about what LLMs can do, what's actually being built, and how much money is being made. Hey @edzitron.com , when my local power utility starts building a new nat gas plant for a data center project that goes bust, who is left holding the bag for all that unnecesary power capacity?

THIS. The notion that these 800 acre data centers are going to spring up in 6 months to a year is LAUGHABLE. I expect a large number of these projects don't even break ground.
