Gotta love how this is a response to the goverment planning a war on Signal and getting caught adding a freaking journalists into the group chat. We are currently clean on OPSEC.

You should note that it is illegal for official government business to be conducted on Signal. Encouraging private citizens to use it is great, but make sure the public understands that it is wrong for government officials to hide what they are doing from the public record.

Just to be clear (and LMK if I’m wrong) Signal does NOT protect you comms if your device is compromised (e.g., screen capture or keylogger), and does NOT prevent or block systems that can read a sufficiently close screen either optically or electrically (Van Eck hacking of a mobile screen). True?

If your device is already compromised you've got bigger problems. Signal does not claim to mitigate this, in addition to every other chat app because *how the hell would you*? Their job is to protect the messages in transit. Yours is to protect them at rest.
