They've already succeeded in making the internet less open over the last two decades. Evidently what was done to stop them wasn't enough then, and it won't be enough now. People don't have the attention span and patience for this kind of fight.

I am normally all in favour of your work, but the right to block AI scraping is a legitimate desire. If the AI bros get their way, they will control and shape access to the web anyway, and blocking them will become moot. But in the meantime hampering their assimilation is an admirable aim.
