I’m always amazed that more people don’t use RSS to cultivate their internet browsing, it makes keeping up with your favourite sites so much easier. I hate it when sites don’t implement it! Although it’s always a good excuse to explore and find alternative sources.

I've been signing up for more and more newsletters as a result. It's not as nice, but that seems to be where a lot of people (in my sample, indie comics creators and tech news sites) are moving towards.

Hopefully a trend that will reverse. I save a lot of what I want to read to Instapaper and then read them on my Kobo (easier on the eyes). Email newsletters don’t work well with that. Although I do have a couple for some authors I can’t otherwise avoid their newsletters to keep updated.

Feedly was good, until they decided to put most of the features behind a paywall. I use Inoreader currently, not the best I’ve used but a good compromise with cross platform support. I was using Reeder Classic (Ex Reeder5) when only Apple based, a much better app.
