When switching from Flock to Axon, do they have to switch out the cameras or can they just reprogram the radios in the camera?

These are competing companies, each with their own proprietary camera hardware and software systems.

I guess it's a good thing they're using proprietary hardware because it will be more expensive for the companies putting these cameras in

Most of these surveillance tech companies rely on a subscription model so the initial installation costs aren't usually too much of a barrier. They're aiming to siphon off public money over the long term.

In order to switch from Flock to Axon, the agency will have to switch the hardware. On the left, Flock, on the right, Axon.

Trump purchased up to $5 million in shares of Axon Enterprise just weeks before ICE issued a notice seeking a contract worth up to $220 million for equipment that experts say only Axon is positioned to provide. The White House has said there is “no conflict of interest”. 🙄
