FluentAssertions have moved dual license (free for open source/paid for corp work) with their v8, and as expected people are blowing a gasket. Please remember, @dennisdoomen.com and co do not owe you their free time in perpetuity. Stay on v7, buy a license, or move on. Be thankful, don't bitch ❤️

What about vbreuss who made substantial contributions to v8 over nearly two years, only to get the license switched out from under him on release? Why do you not care about his work?

That's between him and the FA maintainers, not for me to care about. I don't know how he and other contributors feel about the change. My assumption is that the change is done in accordance with the original license.

This is the kind of license I’d like to use for my projects to be honest. Free for anyone who isn’t a company with like 30+ ppl.

I think not everybody is mad just for the commercial price. We had happenings in the past where the biggest blast was when nuget is interfering with the system itself. This: github.com/fluentassert... seems like a red flag to me. Also, personally, price is way to steep. Bigger than docker, come on

Yeah that would be great. Been thinking about that as an option. There are some pretty complex edge cases that comes with it, but would be nice to have. Sort of the same as an App Store on iOS.

Would be a nice idea, I even recall they did think about such a system, but it's a bit cumbersome to enforce, also because if you reference an assembly A and it snowballs into referencing a lot of other assemblies indirectly and you're paying a lot

Yeah, or everyone just get little. My concern is more around how NuGet authors may avoiding dependencies, and e.g., just copy over source from a dependency to avoid sharing revenue.
