Cyberpunk 2077 (PC, own camera tools, Reshade). I've updated my Cyberpunk 2077 camera tools to game patch 2.5, and integrated the lighting addon Cyberlit into the tools now. It also now comes with 3D gizmo's so it's now easy to adjust light position/rotation. patreon.com/Otis_Inf

#NeverGain #BiowareDead. Still can't believe EA closed the only studio they owned that produced games I liked. Yay, more sports games, military shooters and other crap. :(

"Watching these young kids learn development.."... learn what? They learn nothing. You know what teaches you development? No internet, no clanker telling you what to do, just a book, your editor and an idea. Don't know how to do things? Tough, figure it out. Frauds with a chatbot get nowhere.

I see we're having a debate about whether it's okay to go back to "X," the site owned by a trillionaire fascist who is currently bankrolling the GOP's midterm, throttled Ukraine's war effort, and still winkingly allows vast amounts of CSAM on his service Answer: No, what the fuck is wrong with you

In software, the less features you have, the higher the chance your software is faster than the one with more features. The vibecoded slop-client Epic released has barely any features, yet is already slower than steam. Good job, team Clanker! 😂 videocardz.com/newz/steam-c...

absolutely disgusting to shamelessly gloat about vibecoding your product as you're charging ahead to devalue an entire industry and several art forms with copious amounts of AI confetti hyperslop, depriving real artists and developers of oxygen

I'm a professional software developer now for over 32 years and no, AI doesn't make it 'more pleasant' at all, on the contrary. But hey, what do I know.

NEW: Epic Games has delayed its upcoming (not yet announced) Star Wars + Marvel shooter as it pivots to complete AI game development. "No more hand-written code," a director told staff. All art "generated with full AI workflows." Full scoop: www.bloomberg.com/news/article...

Me: makes silly offhand comment about AI and public key cryptanalysis. People freak out. Also me: does a serious analysis of cryptanalytic effort so far set against recent LLM math results, which is (IMHO) wildly more terrifying. Nobody notices.

Anthropic banning “abusive or cruel behavior” toward Claude in its new usage policies is proof to me that tech companies are going to moderate violence against AI before they ever moderate violence against women and minorities

Have you noticed, lately, or noticed people around you commenting, that there just seems to be no money anymore. There's no money for companies to make the tv shows you like, the video games you like, the local diner you like shut down, no one you know can find a job. Think about that in context of

AI is now the biggest investment in all of US history as a percentage of GDP. Datacenter construction is up, all other construction is down. "AI Is Squeezing Out the Rest of the Stock Market," reported WSJ 2 days ago. We basically bet the whole economy on the most optimistic visions panning out.

I'm old enough to remember that people wondered about this 2, 3 decades ago as well and here we are. It's funny that most people who think software dev as we know it will go away are people who don't do software maintenance. However most work and time spent on software development is after release.

I don’t believe companies expect software development to durably exist as a profession in a decade or two. So this question is like asking who will be the senior milkmen and telephone switchboard operators?

today i'm taking erik (music synth prototype) in a more sober direction; the code is displayed in a more traditional way, but you can set a colour for any variable, it shows where its used via color + lines, and you can edit any number as a knob.
