Here's the thing. If, for example, Meta agrees to weaken encryption (whatever that's supposed to mean!) for the sake of the "lawful access", it will still be possible to place encrypted messages into WhatsApp chats. Then, everyone except the diligent, committed criminals will lose their rights. 1/4
