I feel like I need to state as a reminder that in the novel, Victor is a college student, completely blinded by hubris and fully unprepared to parent a full grown man newly birthed via experimentation. Many mistakes were made, a bad time all around

I'm trying to think of a film/tv adaptation that kept the age/life stage stuff accurate. Not sure I can? I guess Penny Dreadful KINDA did, ambiguously. The age was kept or at least implied in a stage version I saw the other year too.

Absolutely. I re-watch it almost yearly. Not counting the rather odd tacked on ending it's kind of a morbid comfort watch for me. So much outside of the Frankenstein stuff works very well too.

Example: to this day "I need to accept I was never really going to Africa" remains as a metaphor in my head for a lot of things I've had to learn about myself as a person.
