This is a great and very well written post! +1 on the calls for regulation. I haven't used AI for coding yet (I don't want to send money to US tech companies), but the field is clearly shifting. I'm really hoping we can get some actual regulation in this space ASAP. There's some progress in the EU.

One thing that worries me a lot as an art fan too is that a lot of the models' understanding of language comes from art (ie writing.) It's not enough that lots of code is open source & usable - I'd guess prompting is way more effective because the companies used huge amounts of books (for free.)
