Apropos to an earlier post, today I'm thinking of the writer who assured a friend I'd never sell a novel, the day before I announced I had sold Old Man's War. I hope they're well. Also, here's my Astra Award for Best Science Fiction Book, which arrived to the house literally a few moments ago.

Well, maybe you'll never sell ANOTHER one! What about that, huh? (Um, except I've already preordered your next book. And if Amazon offered it, I'd subscribe to get every future book of yours as they came out. But maybe it would just be that one copy of each new book sold!)
