To all the new folks here: welcome to Bluesky! My posts are a mix of infosec, arcade restoration, baseball, and other random stuff Here's my garage arcade. My son and I restored these games (many were DOA) Pictured are: Tempest, Scramble, Donkey Kong, Nintendo VS Tetris, Millipede and Asteroids

Please share! I have a few projects rights now: Q*Bert and QIX are first on the list. I bought both DOA, and have managed to bring them most of the way back

Also sharing that I am selfishly following you because I have a Japanese Space Invaders clone ("Spectre" - cocktail table) that I still need to refurbish. Clearly, I need external motivation. 😆

You have front-and-centered my favorite arcade game. A Follow for you, my good sir! If you're ever in the NC area, look up "Wieners and Losers" - it's a basement arcade with wiener stand open for appointment. Going from this guy's backyard into Dream Machine was one hell of a transition.

Late to the party here. I just joined up and am trying to find arcade things to follow. This thread came up in my search for Donkey Kong. I’m doing the same stuff in the Pacific Northwest. I’m going to go through here and follow each of you in hopes it leads to more arcade content.

Can U help. I played an arcade game where you start with like 1 to 3 characters and you had to cross the game screen while "collecting" other characters, each with their own unique form of attacking.. machine gun, laser, thrown knife, etc.. From my old memory. Any chance you can name it?

Awesome to know you and your son bond together on such a cool hobby. I hope me and my son share something similar when he’s older.

He got recalled from college in March 2020 due to Covid He was home for a month or so and asked me if I would teach him how to solder. Needless to say: I did. He now runs circles around me Proud dad moment, for sure

This is actually epic. There's a working Museum of all arcade games in Laconia, NH called Funspot. Your garage gives me that vibe. That place is my childhood. I can't wait till next year when my son can reach the controls while on the stool. I'm going to whoop him in some Galaga.

I have made the pilgrimage to Funspot Here's Robotron at Funspot, including my lame high score. I apparently pumped at least eight tokens into the coin slot to achieve that feat Robotron's first on my list of games to add to my arcade if I manage to find more room in my garage

I have a Defender as well 😀 I spotted it on Facebook Marketplace. It's a classic, and it has the iconic pinball stainless steel coin door that Williams used before switching to the more common black arcade coin door midway through Defender's production (I'm terrible at Defender)

That is awesome. Just the way I remember. It was/is a tough game, that’s what made it great. Sometimes a buddy of mine would stand next to me and smack the hyperspace button for me to save a life for me.
