I am so tired of tools promising to "fix accessibility". I thought we were already past that? seeing how much of a failure accessibility overlays have been. Not a single tool I that promises accessibility without people has actually delivered on its promises. At least none that I know of.

[1/5] I heard about AccessibilityFirewall.com, promising “No code changes. No overlay. No JavaScript.” It uses “edge” in the same way the Overlay Community Group does. Red flag emoji. So I ran it through its own “Live Remediation Engine”: webcraft.inc#audit-section Hmmm… #accessibility #a11y

Engineers treat perceived friction as a problem to be automated away, while digital accessibility is more about reframing how to think about and approach the medium. We'll be doing this dance until the heat death of the universe.

Hear me out: ① invent a technology that eliminates all junior positions ② like airline pilots, an entrenched generation of website-builders gets old and experiences disability first-hand ③ (the payoff) no more empathy required! but oops! gotcha! the tech in ① perpetuates inaccessibility forever lol
