If the governing coalition wins, some will mourn the prospect of a party founded by literal Nazis joining the government, and others will celebrate.

If they lose, the process of forming a new government could drag on for a long time, and might fail, since the center-right have said they won’t join a coalition that includes the left, and the left refuses to support a government of which they are not part.

Things could get ugly: the leader of the Sweden Democrats has already said he’ll blame an election loss on the Muslim population, now that they have the temerity to vote in free and open elections.

Official results from the Swedish elections might take a while: if it’s very close, the outcome might be determined by the expat vote, which won’t be counted until Wednesday (I’m told). NB. It tends to lean conservative.

Also if it’s v close, the outcome might be determined by the relatively complex algorithm used to convert percentages of the vote into seats in Parliament. Good luck to the TV personalities tasked with explaining it.

Does center-right mean Center here? From my reading they seem to be ideologically close to Liberals and Moderates, but are grouped with the opposition because they refuse to align with Sweden Democrats. But I could be reading this all wrong.
