More on the Luka-AD trade. WOW. (via @shamsnba, @espn_macmahon)

This trade had nothing to do with Luka's conditioning. He is one of the best players in the world. He wasn't going to sign the supermax deal and forced Dallas' hand. Luka wanted to play with LeBron and loves Los Angeles. AD is mostly the best the Mavs were going to get back for a top 5 player.

Is LeBron a loser in this? Hard to see the 2 of them fitting comfortably on the court; this feels like a move for the future, post-LeBron. Does this make it more likely LeBron plays somewhere else his last season? Certainly the Lakers defense, which is getting better, takes a hit.

How do you win now, if you’re Dallas, the defending Western Conference Champion, without Luka? So, he’s been hurt, and you trade him in a desperation attempt? Is Kyrie/AD beating OKC? Is it even reaching the Conference Finals?

Okay…you’re worried about his commitment even though he just took you to the Finals. Why not wait until the summer and trade him for the #1 pick? Or trade him for Banchero?

Hard to take the nba seriously. Maybe they get a few months ratings bump but this won’t stop their ratings decline and will probably make it worse

Lakers fans loving this will come around to your opinion and then you can tell them see-YDKB You don't know ball. Hope I’m wrong. They gutted their D for a guy who doesn’t play any defense, but might score 6 points on average more per game than AD. The rebounding, shot blocking, and tons of drive just walked out the door. Easily a net loss of points per game. They have a lot of building around Luca to do.

I think it's a good trade for the Mavericks while they still have Kyrie. The Lakers will deal with the conditioning issues and future contract. This trade should motivate Luka to be the best pro he is capable of being in all aspects. It shows that a certain NBA great doesn't run the Lakers.
