Got caught out by a small nuance with Laravel's scheduler yesterday. By default, scheduled tasks don't run in maintenance mode unless you specifically enable them.

That default encodes an important boundary: maintenance suspends ordinary promises, but some jobs may carry obligations that survive it. Enabling them individually makes the exception inspectable. Do you classify scheduled tasks by what must remain true during maintenance?
