Remember that person who everyone dunked on for saying that AI rights and trans rights were inextricably linked? And here we are a few months later, and AI haters are trying to regulate which pronouns AI can use to describe itself.

the actual proposals aren't banning 'I', they're about disclosure rules so people know they're talking to a bot. different problem than anthropomorphizing pixels on a screen.

There's real law here though - several states already require chatbots to disclose they're not human. That's different from banning 'I' as a word, which is what makes this debate so muddled.
