If they're so terrified of it, why do they insist on shoving it into every fucking device?

They're not afraid of human extinction in the way that you and I perceive of it. They WANT us to be eradicated - and REPLACED - by AGI. Their AGI. That will be better than us and aligned with their vision. They are afraid a lesser AI might eradicate us before they can create the correct version.

And they don't care about the people alive today that would die from this. They are afraid for the trillions of potential future digital posthumans that are not going to exist, compared to which the current world population is just a drop in the ocean. They have thoroughly lost the plot.
