Yep, I travel a lot internationally and have never encountered someone who was unpleasant to me just because I’m American. I think many Americans who don’t travel abroad much seem to *hugely* overestimate the odds of non-Americans being rude to them simply for being Americans.

I've also found it rare to meet an America hater across the 6ish continents I've worked across. Most people are excited that you came to visit and are being polite and respectful (bonus points if you try to speak a couple local language greetings). They'll also generally br very curious about you!

the craziest interaction I had traveling abroad was in Bruges, buying some frites in 2016 guy: you’re American, yes? me: yeah, why? guy: I just want you to know, we really hate George Bush me: so do we guy: the Iraq war was idiotic me: agreed guy: now my town is overrun with Arabs me: uhhhhh

Not at all in Europe. Not. At. All. In Denmark they barely tolerate immigrants and do what they can to keep the few they allow into the country from settling in the same neighborhoods because they see ethnic neighborhoods as delaying the assimilation process.
