Yep, I travel a lot internationally and have never encountered someone who was unpleasant to me just because I’m American. I think many Americans who don’t travel abroad much seem to *hugely* overestimate the odds of non-Americans being rude to them simply for being Americans.

I've also found it rare to meet an America hater across the 6ish continents I've worked across. Most people are excited that you came to visit and are being polite and respectful (bonus points if you try to speak a couple local language greetings). They'll also generally br very curious about you!

I learned how to say "I am very sorry, I don't speak [language] do you speak English?" in the language of the countries I was visiting. This was appreciated in France, Germany, and Mexico City (though I knew some Spanish beyond that) and I only got a blank stare and rude response in northern Quebec

Huh I’ve never had an issue saying this in French in Quebec but you do sometimes encounter a dickhead

Oh, yeah it was just one guy at Northern Quebec Tim Hortons who scowled and walked away and brought someone out who spoke English despite me holding up 3 fingers to order the number 3.
